An exceptional online learning experience.
The learning format utilized by Orange Lutheran Online is the most popular model for online education in use today, and has been proven successful for more than a decade. Unlike other distance learning systems that emphasize self-study, Orange Lutheran Online provides a highly interactive environment for a rich exchange of information and ideas, and the building of strong relationships between students and teachers.
At Orange Lutheran Online, all interaction among students and teachers is done asynchronously, through e-mails, and newsgroups, so everyone participates on their own schedule. Students are required to log into each class and participate five days a week (Monday through Friday). Students download course materials on a daily basis from their teachers, and read them at their convenience. Throughout each course, students will actively discuss, debate and collaborate with their classmates to better understand the lessons being presented. At the same time, they will have constant access to their teachers who will provide ongoing guidance and feedback. They will also have access to a full range of online resources and other support services. To ensure that learning sessions are productive and interactive, classes are kept small, with no more than 25 students per class.
Students can take three courses at a time during a traditional school year to graduate within four years, or opt to take three courses at a time year round for completion in three years. Each session lasts eight weeks, with most courses requiring attendance in two sessions.
